  • 4 lemons

  • 2-3 heads of garlic

  • 1 whole chicken 4 to 5 pounds

  • Fresh rosemary or any fresh herbs

  • All-purpose steak seasoning or salt and pepper


  • Prepare the garlic heads and lemons by cutting them in half, and placing them at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Ensure the lemons lay flat by cutting off their bottoms.
  • Introduce a sprig of rosemary or any other preferred herbs.
  • Empty the chicken’s insides, rinse it, and then pat it dry.
  • Thoroughly season the chicken both inside and outside using all-purpose steak seasoning or salt and pepper.
  • Position the chicken on top of the garlic and lemon slices, and stuff the chicken with a halved garlic head and a lemon quarter.
  • Cover the chicken with additional lemon slices and rosemary.
  • Set the slow cooker to high heat and cook for approximately 4 hours or until the chicken’s internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • To ensure the chicken is fully cooked, use a meat thermometer.
  • Once the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit, turn off the slow cooker and let the chicken rest for about 15 minutes.
  • Remove the chicken from the slow cooker, carve it, and serve.
    For an optional sauce, strain the liquid from the slow cooker and serve it over the chicken.


  • Note: Cooking times may vary depending on the slow cooker.
  •  The fresh herbs will cook down in the slow cooker. I used more fresh rosemary on top of the cooked chicken
